WTF?

I told my 'maids to pick a gray dress. This is what my sister ordered.

I really didn't think I had to specify that the gray shouldn't be so light it photographs as white. And yes, she's sent me pictures. It looks pretty light in person.
WTF?

  2. maybe you should have been more specific about the gray? sorry hun. its not a floor length satin off white sparkling gown. but im the wrong person to ask i guess, i want my girls to wear cream. *gasp*

    1. Okay, the difference is that you *want* your bridesmaids to wear cream. She wants them to wear gray, not dingy-sock white.

  3. whoa that is so not grey and you should tell her so.

  4. it's nordstrom, home slice. they take EVERYTHING back.

  5. Anyone else read the reviews on Nordstrom's website?? Everyone said it's grey. In fact some people ordered it thinking it was white and were disappointed when they got it and realized how grey it is. If you wanted a certain color grey, you should've made it clear beforehand.

What's with every bride trying to be easy going and laid back and letting their bridesmaids "pick whatever dress they want" and then getting pissed when they pick wrong?

  7. the reviewers on the website say it's light gray and one wore it to a wedding as a guest, so it's probably fine.

BUT if you are really worried about it, just ask your sister to return the dress and send her a couple examples of what you had in mind re shade.

  8. 1. You should have given color examples of what you consider grey.

    2. Shes your sister. Just say you made a mistake by not specifying what you meant by grey, and its a super cute dress, but you'd rather she be in something that darker.

    3. Send her color examples.

  9. i thought i might add that while this dress is cute, it certainly won't take away from the SHOCK and AWE that will be you, the bride. if it flatters her, and doesn't look strange next to your dress (sometimes different shades of white clash), i say roll with it.

  10. Shoulda been more specific. Your bad. Calm down and ask her to take it back, then GO WITH HER to pick something out. You can't be all "hands off, pick what you like!" and then kvetch about it. Can't have it both ways, honey.

  11. There are SO many greys! It's hard for us (as commenters) to muster shock over your MOH's choice when JUST grey can mean so many things! Black with a tiny bit of white? White with a tiny bit of black? That weird metal color? silverish? purple-ish grey?

If someone told me "get grey" I could only assume that everyone would come in a different shade.
